We look after the sewage pumping station at Bourne Park Residential Park in Ipswich. Bourne Park Residential offer affordable mobile homes in a peaceful and tranquil park setting just off Wherstead Road in Ipswich.
All waste water from the mobile homes enters a large underground pump chamber, where two old Tuke and Bell compressor pump sets pumped the waste water to the Anglian Water sewage works. These Tuke and Bell units had been lovingly looked after by the maintenance team for approximately 50 years, however, were requiring more frequent and costly servicing by ECP Group to maintain them in good working order. They were also very noisy as they operated mechanically.
Our client therefore instructed us to remove the old pumps and replace them with modern electric submersible sewage pumps. Whereas previously we were attending site on a monthly basis, our client now only requires an annual service inspection.
The Tuke and Bell Pumps were removed in stages so as to ensure a continued treatment of the pumping medium. We then had to fabricate a new manhole inspection cover which proved to be extremely strenuous and hard work. We had to break up and remove approximately 10" of hard bomb proof concrete and install a new manhole cover and frame. We then installed a temporary submersible pump whilst the remaining works progressed.
Once this stage was completed we installed two new gate valves and altered the pipework in the chamber to accommodate the new pumps.
We installed 2 qty new Pedrollo VXC sewage submersible 1ph pumps
fabricating guide rails to suite. This again was carried out in stages to ensure a continued supply.
Whereas previously residence were complaining of a sewage smell emanating from the pump house, now as the new pumps are installed in the chamber pungent smells have dissipated.
If you require upgrading of an old sewage pumping system them contact us for further details. We also carry out regular annual maintenance of existing installations and would be pleased to attend site and submit prices accordingly.
