Orchard Watering with pressure compensated drippers.

The problems that occur with most drip pipes with pre-inserted drippers is  that the drippers cannot be switched off so even if there are no plants or only grass the area still gets watered. With this plain hose or pipe is placed adjacent to each plant and a button dripper is inserted into the pipe exaclty at the plant  position.  NO WASTED WATER.

A pressure compensated dripper is placed either side, to keep the watering even, of the plant. For most subjects a dripper either side is fine but if you have a very thirsty specimen extra drippers can be used.

For every hour the system is on each tree bush will get 4.4 litres of water or just under 1 gallon.

Pressure compensation = special dripper with a diaphragm in that will compensate as the pressure gets less down the pipe run due to on line pressure losses.  N.B only works from high to low pressure.

From a standard water supply you can water up to 75 plants using 250 metres of 16 pipe.

If you need to water more plants or use more 16 pipe then call us for advice 01473 400101.

In some cases it may be impossible to get the 16 tube adjacent to the tree then an adapter, 6mm tubing, 6mm T and the drippers placed in the 6mm tube can be used. Need to have the 16 pipe within 2 metres of the tree or shrub

The 16 pipe is easy to lay out and is easily connected to the simple fittings that are pushed together.

Very simple to automate with our wide range of timers and do not have to use a pressure regulator unless you have very high pressure. Fertiliser can easily be introduced to your Drip system with one of our feeders. Please note any fertiliser can be used but make sure it is fully soluble and use a filter.

Although the button drippers will tolerate a small level of impurities clean water should be used. If your water could be of an insufficient quality use a filter. For specialist advice call  01473 400101

We have found that over an extended period of years especially in hard water areas a build up of calcium can occur around the outlet this will not normally stop the dripper from working but may slow it down so running the system for longer as the years go past can help. The amount of water applied can be checked with a water meter. If for any reason a dripper gets blocked a new dripper one can simply be inserted.
