Drip Irrigation for Beds & Borders

Drip irrigation is an ideal system for your beds and borders and can also be used for lawn watering. It makes a discrete and long lasting system that is easy to adapt and expand as your garden develops. Very efficient use of water, as it is applied exactly where it is required, with no overspraying or overlap and your plants individual needs can be catered for.

Simple installation, all systems are simply pushed together with fittings, no special tools are required. Unlike sprinkler systems the water is placed directly on your beds and borders. The drip pipes are placed in the beds at a spacing of between 75cm and 1m apart for most soils and the lines of drip pipe are connected up together with either hose or pipe. Easy to automate.

Leaky Pipe

This is the original Leaky Pipe that now has many replicas, but no rubber porous pipe can beat it for it's effectiveness and eveness of output. This is the product which 20 years ago we first offered to gardeners and it is still as popular as ever. It is the easiest way to water your beds and borders. Designed to be buried, Leaky Pipe is excellent for encouraging strong root growth (when buried) and is one of our most popular drip systems for its simplicity and flexibility. Also known as a porous hose and made from recycled rubber. Leaky Pipe does not have actual holes; water is released and exudes through the porous rubber wall.

Surface Drip

For use on the surface when burying is not possible or if you prefer to see where the drip pipe is in your plant borders. Same discrete size as Leaky Pipe and fully UV stabilised, so the drip pipe can safely be left on beds and borders for many years. Drippers are spaced every 30cm, placed in the wall of a polyethylene pipe now coloured black (previously was brown). Can be covered with a mulch.

Sloping Drip

When the slope of your site becomes over about 1:6 you are better to use our sloping drip line. It has drippers spaced every 30cm built into the pipe wall and these drippers are specially constructed to be pressure compensating. The drippers let the same amount of water out at the beginning and the end no matter what the change in elevation, giving an even watering to the bed. This system can be used on the surface, sub-surface or covered with a mulch. You can water a long distance with this pipe up to 100m. This pipe is also the product to use if your water is not very clean, dirty water should not be used. The drippers at the start of each watering cycle open further that allows some extra water through to flush out any dirt. Larger particles roll onto the end of the pipe.

Hedge Watering

Designed to make hedge watering easy. The pipe has drippers inserted every 50cm and these are inserted in the manufacture with opposing drips. Due to the configuration and pressure compensation of the dripper you can water a very long way, up to 180 metres, which is why it makes it ideal for watering hedges.
