Garden Systems Sloping Drip Pipe is designed to get over the problem that gardening on different levels produces with an irrigation system. Namely the fact of uneven output from the drip pipe due to the height differences that creates pressure differentials that then alters the drippers characteristics i.e. the greater the pressure the higher the output. The Sloping Drippers are pressure compensated and are spaced at 33cm in line giving an even output.

Widely used for sites that have a steep slope but also used where longer distances can be acheived with an even output and this can be very useful with hedges. Over the last few years we have also used this widely with rain water harvesting system and other systems that do not use mains water due the pipes ability to withstand a small amount of dirt.

While they work in a similar way to most drippers with a labyrinth, in addition they have a rubber diaphragm that is the compensating part ensuring that the same amount of water comes out of each dripper.

Can be used for a multitude of drip watering areas around the garden such as all your beds and borders, vegetable area and short lengths of hedge.
Sloping Drip Pipe has drippers inserted by the factory every 33cm.
These are INSIDE the wall of the plastic pipe so all you see on the outside is a small hole.

The dripper have a special facility that allows them to self clean so that if the dripper starts to block the diaphragm opens further and by letting more pressure through forces any particles out. This process also occurs at the start of an irrigation cycle, ensuring that time and time again the watering is even and accurate.
Sloping Drip Pipe can be used either on the surface or buried. If burying a vacuum relief valve should be fitted to ensure any air is quickly expelled as well as introducing air into the system as the cycle finishes limiting the amount of soil particles that can enter the dripper.
Sloping Drip Pipe is easy to lay out and is easily connected to the simple fittings that are pushed together. Hose or pipe is used to connect all the lines of the Sloping Drip Pipe up to form a system. We find that pegging it with the pipe anchors every 1.5m helps with the installation.
Very simple to automate with our wide range of timers and you do not have to use a pressure regulator unless you have very high pressure. Fertiliser can easily be introduced to your Drip system with one of our feeders. Please note any fertiliser can be used but make sure it is fully soluble and use a filter.
Although Sloping Drip Pipe will tolerate a small level of impurities clean water should be used. If your water could be of an insufficient quality use a filter. For specialist advice call us on 01473 400101.
We have found that over an extended period of years especially in hard water areas a build up of calcium can occur around the outlet; this will not normally stop the dripper from working but may slow it down so running the system for longer as the years go past can help. The amount of water applied can be checked with a water meter. If for any reason drippers gets blocked a new dripper one can be inserted by cutting out a section of pipe and inserting a suitable section of drip pipe with the dripper in the correct place.
Sloping Drip Pipe is the same as standard hose size and fits all 16 fittings. Standard hose and tube is used to connect the runs of drip pipe.
Do not use cheap hose as it won't last.
