When an irrigation systems has a number of different zones these zones will often have different watering requirements. With these controllers different watering regimes can be set up to match the plants requirements. Most have up to three programmes that can be run independently and any of the valves can be assigned to that programme. Each zone is then brought on in sequence starting from the lowest numbered valve. We offer a range of mains operated controllers most water up to 12 zones with each zone being independently controlled so that different running times and different water schedules can be set.

These controllers also contain a battery for back up should there be a power cut so the programme is not lost. If power is lost to the contoller the valves will not operate.

For watering gardens we are mainly using the Orbit controller that has a very easy to use and alter interface up to12 zones. Also availabele is the Orbit Pocket star that has an external transformer and has the ability for 6 zones.  We also stock Toro for larger schemes and Nelson.

The controllers are connected to a manifold and solenoid valves which will control the flow of the water around the irrigation system and switch it on and off as set.

All controllers can be equiped with a rain sensor to isolate it should irrigation not be required due to natural occuring water from natures sprinkler system.

We also offer the Heron controllers that operate up to 99 zones and have almost unlimited programmes and a multitiude of sophisticated control systems.

For the future. Control systems are now operated over the internet so that you can change any of the setting remotely, get warnings should there be a leak or the system does not come on or if a particular zone is dry - all clever stuff.
