Irrigation Manifolds and Solenoid Valves

The irrigation manifold with solenoid valves is used in conjunction with the mains operated timers to build the irrigation system into a number of different zones and then allow these zones to be controlled independently. The manifolds are available from 2 zone units up to 6 zone units as standard for larger units please call Garden Systems on 01473 400102.

We offer several different variants depending on the use and the budget.  We at Garden Systems do all the hard work of assembling the units and wiring the solenoids which are fully tested before they leave us for ease of installation. The manifold needs to be located and fixed (all fixings are provided) near the garden tap where the water is to be supplied from.

All of the automatic manifolds with solenoids come with a choice of fittings that are attached to the outlets of the valves. These fittings can be hose (click), claw, hose tail or compression pipe fittings. All of these fixings can be mixed and matched as required. When ordering let us know your requirements.

As a standard the connection for the water coming in is a click fitting, if you require a different fitting like a compression fitting please let us know.   We offer a secure attachment to an out side tap with a brass 2 way tap splitter, 2 meters of ¾”  high quality hose, 4 x brass hose connections so that the system can not come apart under pressure.  Other length of hose available on request.

The premium manifold system uses a PVC Manifold assembled by us, a top quality solenoid valve which has an isolating valve for each solenoid and union connections for simple replacement or removal.  Water can enter either from the right or left hand side. All irrigation manifolds are tested before leaving for leaks and electrical connections.

New for 2009 we have developed the standard manifold to meet the demand of our customers for a better priced unit that will still do the job.  The standard manifold has a factory made manifold with the union fitting integral to the molding. The solenoids then attach to this and again you have the choice of which fittings you require for attaching your pipes.   If need a 6 station a 2 can easily be attached to a 4.

To keep the prices realistic we have also revamped the budget manifold and have used the standard manufactured manifolds.  These valves are smaller and restrict the flow a lot more than the irrigation solenoids so the budget manifold should only be used for drip and a system that only has a couple of pop ups. If requiring the full flow of water for sprinklers, do not use.  These solenoids can not be switched on  manually, the controller must always be used.

The manifolds must be drained down and stored away in the winter away from the frost.

For battery operated systems  (Toro DCMP and Claber Multipla) that are capable of several zones we can build these into a manifold either the Premium or the standard.  See Battery Operated Timers.

Solenoid valves.

As a standard valve for irrigation use we use the Toro range of valves.  For garden and standard landscape use, we use a range of 1” and ¾” valves and these can be swapped with other makes of valve. The standard voltage for garden, landscape and commercial irrigation systems is 24 volt. This ensures everything is always safe whilst giving the power to operate the coils in the solenoid valves.

We stock a wide variety of other solenoid valves for all sorts of uses including 12 volt, 9 volt, 240 volt and are available is sizes up to 2” off the shelf.  Valves are also available in brass as well as solenoids suitable for dirty water.

Please call us if you any specific requirements. 01474 400102
