Well & Borehole Installations

If you have not already done so we would suggest that you read the introduction page on wells and boreholes this will give you some insight into the main differences between a well and  borehole.

Over the years we have sunk, drilled, deepened and refurbished countless wells and boreholes, especially during the drought period of 1989 to 1994.  This enabled us to devise methods to successfully increase well yields and which we are still putting into practice today.  Without exaggeration we can generally increase the yield of a well by 100% or more.

Most wells are usually quite inaccessible however with our type of equipment which is erected manually; we have been able to effectively work on many installations which other companies have abandoned or wouldn’t entertain.  Some examples include wells which have been built over in bedrooms, hallways, conservatories and kitchens.  Even trickier are when an external wall of a property straddles the well entrance.

We made the decision many years ago to purchase a portable modular drilling rig which has enabled us to drill boreholes in areas where traditionally sized equipment cannot operate due to the large footprint required.  Our rig is assembled piece by piece and does not require a large footprint.

We can drill down to 100m which covers most of the country.  Our aim is to provide a complete service which encompasses an initial hydrogeological research, applying for necessary licences if required, drilling and developing the borehole, to finally installation of the pump and equipment with appropriate water treatment filters.  This is all carried out in-house by our skilled engineers.  Just imagine only one contact number required for future maintenance and service.  As we are providing the complete package all equipment is carefully selected and sized to suit the project in hand.

Traditionally boreholes were drilled utilising steel tube, surprisingly this steel tube was not even galvanised resulting in encrustation and corrosion problems.  We are able to ream out and reline these boreholes utilising corrosion resistant PVC casing, extending the life of the borehole.

We have selected a series of photographs illustrating various installations carried out over the years.
